Liam
It had been an interesting day for sure. Between Ma' Mary's fortune, the aftermath of its results, and his lessons with Alra, Liam had kept himself quite busy during his time in Plainston. His mastery of Esnyan had been faster than either of them had expected, and with the language readily at hand, he left his two friends at the bar to head upstairs to go and see Vincent, who had been uncharacteristically absent and isolated since he returned from whatever he had been up to. A gauntleted hand rapped at the door, as he took just a moment to quickly fix his hair a bit for appearance sake, somewhat apprehensive still about doing this.

Vincent
Vincent sat on the floor of his room. The magic bag had been set aside, its properties revealed to him, and he held a large intricate staff in his hand which he concentrated all his energy on. However he had only begun to unravel the secrets of the item he was holding when a small bell went off in his head. Someone had tripped his alarm. A moment later he heard a knock on the door. He had a moment of panic thinking perhaps he had been found out and quickly squirreled the items back into the bag and threw the bag under his bed covered with the rest of his belongings much as a guilty child would have done. He wasn't very good at hiding physical objects, but he took a moment to straighten himself out and look as presentable as possible. His heart racing he opened the door with a smile only to see the young knight Liam standing in front of him. Internally he breathed a sigh of relief but on his face he kept up his grin and spoke in his practiced Neslethean. "Why Liam, I haven't seen you all day. How can I help you?"

Liam
Liam smiled as he heard him speaking the common tongue, as he towered over his magic wielding companion. He had left the shield and sword behind, but he was still in his full suit of plate, making him look as much the part of a stalwart, stoic knight as befit him. In his practiced Esnyan, he responded. "Well met, Vincent. I only wish for a few moments of your time, if that suits you."

Vincent
His practiced smarm faltering for a moment, Vincent let out a genuine laugh in surprise at Liam's use of Esnyan. A nobleman from Stiybia speaking Esnyan, this one was full of surprises! Opening the door wide he gestured inside. Switching to his native tongue, letting the rougher dialect show rather than his normally smooth voice he responded in kind. "Of course, you are most welcome here. Come in."

Liam
Seeing that his new dialect had the desired effect, Liam stepped into his room, looking around for a moment. Truly, of anyone in the party, he was the only one who had grown up as he did, seated in wealth and luxury, and yet neither of them had wasted the opportunities given to them by the fortune of their birth. Despite that, he was also very much his opposite, and he wondered if that had something to do with why he wanted to pursue him. It wouldn't be the first time, at least, that this type had appealed to him. "Thank you. Would you like a cup of tea? I brewed a pot downstairs and was hoping I could share some with you."

Vincent
"That sounds wonderful." Vincent gestured towards the small table in the room. There was only one chair so he sat on the edge of the bed instead, thinking momentarily of the items stashed away underneath it, but intrigued enough by the situation to forget them almost immediately. He wasn't sure what to yet make of the visit. Was this strapping young man simply being friendly or perhaps did he have an ulterior motive? Vincent had been pursued many times before by men and women alike and was usually quite adept at interpreting signals, but there was a formality here that he was unaccustomed to and he didn't want to get ahead of himself.

Liam
Removing a well wrapped tea pot from his bag, still steaming hot, he sat it onto the table as he sat down, before setting out two cups. He could see the intrigue on Vincent's face, smiling as he considered the situation. For a Stiybian, this was a standard means of closing the distance between yourself and the one you desired, and he'd been offered tea on a number of occasions before. The two cups were soon filled, and he offered the aromatic brew to Vincent as he raised his own cup to take a sip. "Vincent, we have been a part of this group for a few months now, yes? It almost seems like yesterday, sometimes."

Vincent
Vincent took the cup offered to him and took a small sip. He had seen Liam making tea many times and expected he would be quite good at it, and it lived up to those expectations. He closed his eyes a moment to both enjoy the fragrance and to recall the history of their encounters and the formation of their group. Not all had been his best moments, as he most vividly remembered a scuffle in this very town, but overall they had created a wonderful working relationship. "You're right, the time has flown by." Deciding to test the waters a little he added after a moment, "As it always does in such pleasant company."

Liam
He caught on to his phrasing and decided to show him his hand a bit, as he leaned towards him a bit. "Pleasant is one word for it, some more than others." The suggestion was obvious in his tone, as he took another sip of tea. "You are quite the interesting persona, Vincent. A wizard of great talent, a man with a silver tongue, and a keeper of interesting odds and ends. There is a mystery about you, Arbordale, one that I would like to delve deeper into." For Stybians, even a casual courtship was couched in creative language, and this was no different as he entreated Vincent with careful, metaphorical advances.

Vincent
Vincent lit up inside, partially from the energy in the room but also with pride at having correctly guessed Liam's intention. This was now a situation he was all too familiar with. However, he knew Stiybians were a formal sort and there was etiquette here he must obey. Sipping his tea again, he set the cup down, using the motion to lean himself forward as well, bringing them closer. "Anything you wish to know, you need only ask and I will do my best to be accommodating. I wish to know more of you as well, a young man with a wide range of talents, many of which I'm sure you have yet to show."

Liam
Grinning, he set down his tea as he crossed his hands over his chest. "I might just surprise you, my friend. As for what I want to know about you, I think the answers would be quite obvious to me after we spend a bit more time together." As imposing a figure as he was, in this context he seemed gentle, even unassuming. He lifted the chair and moved it closer to the bed, looking him over again conspicuously, letting him know exactly what he was currently admiring. "Of course, I wouldn't presume to be the only one privy to such answers. I have heard that you and Alra have a bit of a past."

Vincent
Vincent took the opportunity to move closer. He enjoyed the way Liam looked at him. Despite the pageantry, his intentions were quite clear. He knew standing that Liam had quite a height advantage over him, but sitting as they were despite Liam in his armor they were more able to gaze on each other equally. The question did require some delicate wording, not all were as receptive to the volume and diversity of love that he put out into the world. "Yes, she is a strong and beautiful woman, and a person with such strength is undeniably attractive." He let the statement stand for a moment, staring directly into Liam's eyes before continuing, "But alas, the fair maiden showed no interest."

Liam
The implication was obvious, as Liam wondered how familiar Vincent was with this kind of common banter. Pouring himself another cup of tea, he offered to top off Vincent's cup as well, as he considered his words. "Interestingly enough, and this stays between us, she seemed somewhat dismayed by the revelation that I wasn't as interested in her as I was you. Perhaps she has a type, but then again, most people do."

Vincent
Vincent gestured towards his cup and nodded, accepting the offer of tea. He enjoyed how Liam's coyness had dropped just for a moment when describing his interest in him. The directness hadn't gone unnoticed, but he did need to address the matter at hand. "Ah yes, most people do. However, I find myself drawn to all manner of beautiful things and beautiful people. Many out there carry a beauty within them, it only needs to be drawn out."

Liam
"Ah, that's quite an enlightened view to have. As for myself, I'll admit that you're not exactly my 'usual' type, but then again, neither is the whole adventuring thing we've been doing, so I suppose there's a first for everything. Something about you, I think, is a bit different, and I'm not just talking about your magical talents." Setting his tea down, he smiled, as he decided to make things a little less formal. "Let's be clear here, though, I'm not looking for a quick fling or a one night dalliance, so…why don't we just leave things here for now?"

Vincent
"Of course, we should get to know each other better, have a chance to learn about some of those secret talents. Besides, good things come to those who wait." Vincent reached over and took the still full cup of tea, not wanting to leave his drink untouched he closed his eyes and drank it all, tilting his head back, leaning back a little on the bed as he finished it playing at being seductive before sitting upright and putting it with the rest of the set. "Until next time, then?"

Liam
Placing his own cup back onto the platter, he nodded as he lifted it up as he stood, once again making the height difference quite apparent. "Until next time, my good friend. Your company, as always, has been a delight." This had gone well, he thought, as he headed to the door and headed off back downstairs, to get a few more drinks in. Before he left, he gave one more grin and a narrowing of his eyes, before the door shut behind him.

Vincent
Vincent let the door close behind Liam enjoying the energy of the moment before getting up and recasting the alarm on the entryway. He began to pull out his things he'd quickly stashed under the bed, but his mind was already racing. "Well this is an interesting development, my love." "Yes, it certainly is."
